Arkansas woman dies after vehicle overturns on I-40 in North Little Rock

A 38-year-old Arkansas woman was killed early Tuesday after her vehicle overturned on Interstate 40 and was then struck by another vehicle, authorities said.

It happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. just west of the JFK Boulevard exit in North Little Rock, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Police say Jennifer Jackson was driving a 2003 Chevrolet east on the highway when the vehicle left the roadway. Jackson overcorrected and drove into the concrete barrier, which caused the Chevrolet to overturn, the report said. It was then struck by an eastbound Jeep.

Jackson suffered fatal injuries. A driver and a passenger in the Jeep were listed as being hurt, though the report didn't detail the extent of their injuries.

Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.

The death is one of at least 377 in traffic crashes on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
