'God's Not Dead 3' set to film on University of Central Arkansas campus

A production crew is set to shoot on the University of Central Arkansas campus for the third installment of the God’s Not Dead film series.

Earlier this week, filmmakers were casting volunteer background actors to portray students on the campus in Conway, according to a Facebook post from the UCA Family Network.

The post lists "days available" as Sunday through Oct. 11. "Can do one or all," it reads in part. A UCA spokeswoman said the film would be shooting on campus on Monday and Tuesday.

God's Not Dead 3 is set to be shot over five weeks in central Arkansas beginning Saturday.

An open casting call late last month sought a variety of characters: college students, lawyers, security guards, pastors and "executive types."

Among the characters was Thomas Ellsworth, president of the fictional Hadleigh University, as well as a campus security guard and two students.

While much of the faith-based film's plot has not been released, the casting page lists a conflict between the made-up university and a fictional "affluent Baptist church."

Its predecessor, God’s Not Dead 2, was also filmed in the region in 2015, largely in areas around Little Rock.
