Gunman approaches stopped car, robs woman of cash she withdrew from Little Rock bank, police say

A 52-year-old Alexander woman told investigators a gunman approached her car and robbed her of cash she had just withdrawn from a Little Rock bank.

The victim said it happened about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on Mabelvale Plaza Drive, which runs south of Interstate 30 in southwest Little Rock.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the woman saw a gray Chevrolet Impala pull up behind her and believed it to be her husband, who works for a car dealership and often drives different vehicles.

The woman stopped her car, and a gunman approached from the Impala. The robber demanded the woman's money, taking $1,200 in cash before returning to his car and fleeing west from the area, the report said.

The victim told investigators she had withdrawn the money a short time earlier and believes the robber may have followed her from the bank, police noted.

Officers searched the area but didn't make an arrest.

The robber is described as a clean-shaven black male who stood 6 feet tall, weighed 180 pounds and had a short black afro, a light build and brown eyes.
