An Arkansas man pistol-whipped his wife when she found him in bed with another woman, police say.

The Hot Springs Sentinel-Record reported that William Bagby, 29, of Hot Springs was arrested late Sunday after he called police shortly before 11 p.m. and told them he struck his spouse with a gun after an argument.

The victim reportedly told police that she had gotten home and found Bagby in bed with another woman. According to court documents cited by the newspaper, the wife went into the house to confront the other woman after she and Bagby argued outside.

There, Bagby struck her four or five times with a pistol, then went outside to call 911, the Sentinel-Record reported.

Officers noted in their report that the victim had a severe laceration to her nose, a "huge knot" on the left side of her forehead and bruising to her right ear and the top of her head.

Bagby was charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member and third-degree domestic battery and was booked into the Garland County jail Monday, records show. He did not appear on the inmate roster Tuesday afternoon.
