North Little Rock man killed, minor hurt in 2-vehicle wreck

A 27-year-old North Little Rock man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Oct. 2, according to a state police report released Tuesday.

The wreck occurred shortly after 6 p.m. as Elijah Howard was driving a 2016 Toyota north on U.S. 62-65 in Boone County, authorities said.

Howard reportedly "crossed over" the turning lane and struck a southbound 1998 Kenworth truck.

Howard suffered fatal injuries, the report states. A passenger in the truck, a male minor, was listed as being hurt and taken to an area hospital, though the report did not detail the extent of his injuries.

Conditions were said to be clear and dry at the time of the crash.

At least 388 people have died in wrecks on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary crash data.
