More lane closures scheduled for I-49

Construction connected to a $27.7 million widening project on Interstate 49 in Rogers and Bentonville will require overnight lane closures on the interstate beginning today and continuing through Oct. 31, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

Crews performing asphalt operations will require the northbound and southbound lanes between Central Avenue/Arkansas 72 in Rogers and U.S. 62/Arkansas 102 in Bentonville from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, weather permitting.

Traffic will be controlled using barrels and flaggers. The department said motorists should proceed with caution through the work zone or find alternate routes to avoid the lane closings.
