A 66-year-old man was killed after the pickup he was driving on Interstate 40 in Arkansas struck a barrier wall and overturned, state police said.
The single-vehicle wreck happened around 8:05 a.m. Sunday as Phillip Yarbro of Forrest City was traveling west on the interstate near Palestine in St. Francis County, according to a report.
Authorities say Yarbro lost control of a 1996 Dodge Ram, causing it to strike a barrier wall and overturn.
Yarbro suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. A passenger inside the pickup, 69-year-old Gay Yarbro, was also injured, police said.
Weather conditions were clear and I-40 was dry at the time, the report states.
Yarbro’s death was one of at least 395 recorded so far this year on an Arkansas road, according to preliminary figures.
