JOE T. ROBINSON 42, BAUXITE 14
Joe T. Robinson Coach Todd Eskola said he was expecting a tough test from Bauxite's Miners, but the Senators did enough to post a 42-14 victory in a 7-4A game Friday night in Little Rock.
"This was a trap game for us,'' Eskola said, talking about the dangers of facing Bauxite (4-4, 2-3). "We knew Bauxite was much improved.
"They are a quality opponent and so much better than last year. Our kids have had a whole lot of games where they've had to sink a whole lot into it. We were kinda banged up. We were able to come out and not play well and still get a win."
The Senators (8-0, 5-0) scored twice on plays of longer than 80 yards, along with three other big touchdown plays, to put Robinson within a game of clinching the league title.

"We came out really flat tonight," Eskola said, "didn't look sharp and had too many penalties. They were really aggressive and did a real good job up front.
"The main thing was they came out to play and we didn't and luckily we were able to overcome that and get a win."
Junior defensive lineman Zach Williams scored on an 81-yard fumble return after a scoreless first quarter and junior Mikel Kentle added an 80-yard punt return on the final play of the third quarter.
Caesar Williams run for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns, the first from 2 yards and later a 34-yarder where he broke three tackles en route to the end zone. He also ran in a two-point conversion.
Senior Nathan Page caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Grayson Tackett, but had two big plays, including a long scoring run, erased by penalties.
Joe T. Robinson's final score came on a 26-yard run from backup quarterback Zaytron Waits.
Junior kicker John Michael Eskola hit 4 of 5 extra points.
Bauxite's Dawson Dibbs, a 5-7 junior, scored on touchdowns runs of 65 and 53 yards. Mathieu Barbanzangers kicked both extra points.
