"The mileage rate for lawmakers driving to legislative meetings is 53.5 cents a mile."
.
Why? When the reimbursement rate for STATE employees is ~40 cents a mile. Are lawmakers cars more expensive to drive and/or repair? In addition, given that we now pay these bozos a full time salary for essentially part time work, why are we paying per diem too? Mileage and per diem should have been included in the 2-3x salary bump these lawmakers got a few years back.
