Senior airman assigned to Little Rock Air Force Base found dead in vehicle; investigation underway

Officials are investigating the death of a 24-year-old senior airman who was assigned to the Little Rock Air Force Base.

Michael D. Lusk of Johnson City, Tenn., was found dead in his vehicle on the side of a highway in Lawrence County, a base spokesman said, noting the cause of death wasn't yet known.

Lusk worked as an aircrew and maintenance debrief specialist and was assigned to the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at the base.

"We are extremely saddened by the loss of such a valued member of our team," Col. Gerald Donohue said in a statement. "Michael will be missed by all those who knew him."
