Travelers squeak by Naturals for 1-0 win

LITTLE ROCK — Seth Mejias-Brean hit a run-scoring single in the fourth inning to give the Arkansas Travelers a 1-0 win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Saturday.

Ryan Casteel scored on the play after he reached base with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch.

Aaron West (1-4) got the win with five innings of scoreless, four-hit relief while NW Arkansas starter Josh Staumont (3-4) took the loss in the Texas League game. Ryan Kelly retired the side in order for his fifth save of the season.

The Naturals were blanked for the 12th time this season, while the Travelers' staff recorded their 10th shutout of the year.
