THE SKINNY: Sometimes you feel like a nut, a commercial for a much more indulgent snack once said.
We always do. Especially if chocolate -- or some similarly sweet fake white-chocolate-ish coating -- is involved.
Fiber One, maker of all kinds of of bars (Oat, Protein, 90-calorie, Cheesecake, Baked and Streusel), has released its newest Protein Nut Chew Bars in two flavors, Sweet & Salty Roasted Nut and Chocolate Pretzel Nut. Full of ingredients like almonds and peanuts and salty pretzel pieces, and drizzled in a sweet coating (but not too sweet -- only 5 sugar grams), they are interesting in texture and taste.
Like all those other Fiber One bars, they contain chicory root extract (Google it and be warned of side effects). Fiber One doesn't agree with everyone.
