Legacies & Lunch

The Butler Center for Arkansas Studies marks the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Main Library in Little Rock's River Market District and the founding of the center with its monthly Legacies & Lunch program, titled "20 Years and Family Films," noon Wednesday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock. The program will highlight the center's collection of amateur films and include a 20th-anniversary video. Newton-John redux

A limited number of tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Sept. 12 for a 7 p.m. Sept. 29 concert by Olivia Newton-John at Oaklawn Park, 2705 Central Ave., Hot Springs. The concert is a reschedule from a sold-out June 9 performance called off when Newton-John suspended a North American tour to undergo treatment for breast cancer. Rep classes

The Arkansas Repertory Theatre will offer classes in musical theater, acting, theater dance, tap dance and improvisation for students, kindergarten through adult, Monday-Nov. 13 at the Rep Annex, 518 Main St., Little Rock. 'Narratives in Ink'

Artist Diane Harper will hold a workshop, "Narratives in Ink," focusing on storytelling and pen-and-ink techniques for aspiring artists 14 and older, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Arkansas Innovation Hub, 201 E. WWI seminar

The Arkansas World War I Centennial Commemoration Committee and the Old State House Museum will host "Keep the Home Fires Burning: Arkansas and World War I," a seminar on Arkansas during World War I, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 23 at the museum, 300 W. Markham St., Little Rock. The seminar will feature lectures by Shawn Fisher, Elizabeth Hill, Carl Drexler and Cherisse Jones Branch on topics including the homefront, wartime manufacturing and the experience of black Arkansans during the war.
