FAYETTEVILLE -- A Rogers man was sentenced to federal prison Tuesday for methamphetamine.
Christian Rodriguez, 27, was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $2,400 fine on one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The Rogers Police Department stopped Rodriguez in January for not wearing a seat belt, according to court records. As soon as the vehicle stopped, Rodriguez got out of the car and fled. He was apprehended after a short pursuit.
Officers found two ounces of meth, a set of digital scales and almost $4,000 in cash in the car. The Arkansas State Crime Lab confirmed the drugs were meth.
Rodriguez was indicted by a federal grand jury in March and pleaded guilty in May.
U.S. District Judge Tim Brooks presided over the sentencing hearing.
This case was investigated by the Rogers Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Harris prosecuted the case.
