A man from Goodman, Mo., was arrested late Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting.

Wade Woods, 27, was arrested about 11 p.m. after a short pursuit.

McDonald County deputies found Russell McClelland, 37, with multiple gunshot wounds about 10 a.m. Tuesday at 1446 S. Tiger Road near Longview, Mo., Sheriff Michael Hall said.

Paramedics pronounced McClelland dead, Hall said.

A deputy followed Woods, who was driving a motorcycle, down Bear Hollow Road, Hall said. When the deputy turned on his lights and siren, Woods didn't stop. Deputies arrested him when he tried to flee on Foxtrot Road -- a dead end near the Missouri-Arkansas border.

Woods is being held in the McDonald County Jail without bond.

"He's been in trouble before, but it's usually drug- or driving-related," Hall said of Woods. "He has also stolen a vehicle in the past, but nothing this violent."
