Man fatally stabbed in North Little Rock; no charges 'at this time'

EARLIER:

No charges have been filed against the person who fatally stabbed a man in North Little Rock, police said, calling the case one of "self defense."

Authorities did not release the name of the person questioned in the killing of 53-year-old Mark Crotts, who died after being found Friday in the driveway of 3904 Susan Circle. He was suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The North Little Rock Police Department said in a statement earlier Saturday that an "unknown white female" left the residence in a pickup that was later stopped at an Interstate 40 onramp.

She was questioned, but authorities did not charge her "at this time," police spokesman Sgt. Brian Dedrick said in an email.

"This will be a case of self defense and the file will be completed and sent to the prosecutor for review," he said, saying the stabbing happened during a "domestic altercation."
