Fall Tiger Serve Day

ARKADELPHIA — Ouachita Baptist University’s fall Tiger Serve Day will take place Saturday. Students, faculty and staff will meet at the Ben M. Elrod Center for Community and Family at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast before dispersing to service projects all over the community. This year’s theme is Serve Arkadelphia. A team of about 50 students, faculty and staff will travel to Houston, Texas, to assist in cleanup from Hurricane Harvey. Participants can become involved by signing up at www.obu.edu/serve. Merry Mixers Dance Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Merry Mixers Dance Club meets at 7:30 p.m. the third Saturday of each month, September through May, in the Coronado Community Center. A dance lesson will be held at 7 p.m. before dances begin. Admission is $10 per person, with annual membership packages available for $60 for all nine dances. Ceramic Works Display

ARKADELPHIA — Ceramic works by Aaron Calvert, a professor of art at Henderson State University, will be on display through Sept. 29 in the Russell Fine Arts Gallery. Free Exercise Classes

ARKADELPHIA — The Central Arkansas Development Council’s Arkadelphia Senior Activity Center invites the public to a free Zumba class at 11 a.m. every Wednesday at the center, 1305 N. 10th St. The class, taught by a local fitness instructor, is geared for seniors ages 60 and older. Ageless Bikers Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Ageless Bikers Club has 10 different bike rides that are 16 to 35 miles long. The rides are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays on quiet paved country roads (one ride has up to 3 miles of gravel). No one is left behind, and the group stops often to regroup and socialize. Several rides are “out and back,” so the beginner can turn back for a shorter ride. Walk a Mile in My Shoes

ARKADELPHIA — The Arkadelphia Human Development Center Volunteer Council will host its third annual AHDC Walk a Mile in My Shoes walkathon from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 8 on the DeGray Lake Sunset Trail at the Lower Dam Spillway in Caddo Valley. The entry fee is $10, and early registration guarantees a T-shirt. Prizes will be given away. Supporters are encouraged to “bring your family and walk a mile for someone who cannot walk for themselves.” The deadline to register is Sept. 26.
