HELENA-WEST HELENA 48, BAPTIST PREP 3

Terrance Calhoun rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Armonie Calhoun accounted for two touchdowns, all in the first half, as Helena-West Helena Central blitzed Baptist Prep 48-3 in a 2-4A game in Little Rock.

The Cougars (4-0) led 48-0 with 3:25 to go in the first half after Caldreekious Harrell ran for 54 yards to account for Helena-West Helena Central's final touchdown and Kobe Simpson's extra point.

Baptist Prep (0-4) got its first points of the season after driving to the Helena-West Helena 2 against the backup defense. The Cougars forced a 19-yard field goal by Allie Mead with 1:02 to go in the third, making the final score 48-3.

The Cougars needed 12 seconds to score, with Joseph Robinson taking the opening kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown.

Simpson's PAT made it 7-0 with 11:48 remaining in the first quarter.

Helena West-Helena got the ball back at its 48 after three Baptist Prep plays and a punt.

Quarterback Armonie Calhoun scored on a 43-yard run to complete a 3-play, 52-yard possession. The extra-point attempt failed and the Cougars led 13-0 with 9:23 to go in the first quarter.

Helena-West Helena then needed two plays to go 61 yards after another Eagles punt.

Armonie Calhoun threw to Syieed Wilson for a 59-yard scoring pass with 3:55 left in the first quarter. Calhoun threw a shovel pass to Nathaniel Harvey for the two-point conversion to push the lead to 21-0.

The Cougars scored again after a punt when Terrance Calhoun capped off a four-play, 54-yard drive with a 24-yard touchdown run with 0:58 to go in the first quarter. The extra point failed, keeping the score at 27-0 Cougars.

Helena-West Helena added three more scores in the second quarter. Terrance Calhoun scored on a 9-yard run to finish an 8-play, 58-yard drive with 9:00 to go in the first half. Conail Murry ran in the two-point conversion to make it 35-0.

The Cougars scored again two plays after recovering a Baptist Prep fumble.

Sammie Arnett, who normally plays on the offensive line, scored on a 14-yard run with 7:39 to go in the first half. The extra-point attempt failed making the score 41-0.
