34-year-old dies after losing control of motorcycle on Arkansas highway, police say

An Arkansas man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding left a road and struck an embankment late Thursday, state police say.

The crash happened shortly before midnight as 34-year-old Jimmy Guess of Cabot was riding a Harley Davidson south on Arkansas 89 near Oglesby Road in Lonoke County.

According to a report, Guess lost control of the vehicle at a curve, causing it to travel off the highway and strike a nearby embankment.

Police said Guess was taken to North Metro Medical Center in Jacksonville, where he was pronounced dead.

Travel conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.

Guess’ death was one of at least 369 recorded in crashes this year on Arkansas roads, according to preliminary figures.
