Where I live: I recently moved to an old Victorian-era house on the edge of the Governor's Mansion District with potter Fletcher Larkin and our three cats. We found the perfect house that is close to work and we are retrofitting our garage to be a studio.

Occupation: I make pots and I chair the ceramics department of the Arkansas Arts Center Museum School, where I teach classes and workshops and manage all aspects of the studio and equipment. We have seven other ceramics instructors and offer about 15 classes a quarter. I'm also on the Board of Directors at Dunbar Garden.

My favorite space is: Our sunroom.

Why? At my old house, I didn't have much luck with plants, but this room has great lighting. While we are getting our studio set up, I can't spend as much time making pots, so I have created an urban jungle in here. The color, texture and pattern in these leaves inspires me -- and I really like this chair. It's a great place to sit with a book and a cat after a long day. I've been rooting a lot of cuttings lately, and sometimes it takes awhile, but then one day, there's a root. It's almost as exciting as opening a kiln!

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: I've got my eye on some different tile for the floor but don't tell Fletcher. Seriously, he'll start packing.
