Phone service restored to city of Little Rock offices

3:20 P.M. UPDATE:

The city of Little Rock says its telephone service has been restored.

However, it said it is continuing to work to resolve some remaining issues and that could disrupt service again.

EARLIER:

The city of Little Rock is unable to receive any phone calls at the moment.

Officials have not been able to identify the problem, but have contacted the phone system vendor.

The technical difficulties began sometime Wednesday morning. It is unknown how long it will take to correct the problem, spokesman Lamor Williams said.

The problem does not affect emergency calls to 911. However, calls to any city office, including regular police department office numbers, will not go through.

Service request and information request calls to 311 will not go through.
