Police have identified a man found fatally shot inside a Little Rock apartment Thursday night.

Officers were called around 7:50 p.m. to 5 Falcon Court on the city’s southwest side in reference to a shooting at Eagle Nest Apartments, the Little Rock Police Department said.

Inside a residence, authorities found Devon Howard, 23, of Little Rock lying on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release.

Howard was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that when Howard answered a knock on the apartment door, two males forced their way inside.

According to authorities, the witnesses heard a demand for money and later a gunshot as they ran into other rooms.

Police Department spokesman Lt. Michael Ford has said the killing "may possibly be drug related."

No suspects had been named in the homicide, the city’s fourth of 2018, as of Friday morning. An investigation is ongoing.
