67-year-old Arkansan killed in three-vehicle wreck involving school bus, police say

A 67-year-old man was killed in a three-vehicle wreck involving a school bus in Arkansas, police said.

The crash happened around 4:10 p.m. Monday on Arkansas 282 east of Rudy in Crawford County, according to a preliminary report.

Police say Billy Ray Faries, 67, of Fort Smith was traveling east on a 2015 Kawasaki at a curve when he crossed the centerline and struck the driver’s side of a westbound 2015 Hyundai.

Faries "was separated from his vehicle and struck the driver's side" of a westbound school bus, according to authorities.

Faries died as a result of the crash, the report stated. Another person was reportedly injured, though they were not named.

Travel conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.

Faries’ death was one of at least 46 recorded so far this year on an Arkansas road, according to preliminary figures.
