Police: Thief stole merchandise from Little Rock discount store, threatened to run over, shoot employee

A thief walked out of a Little Rock convenience store with stolen merchandise under his clothes, then threatened to run over an employee with his car and shoot her Thursday morning, police said.

A 24-year-old employee at Dollar General, 4748 Springer Blvd., said someone entered the store about 10:50 a.m. and went out of the security cameras’ range.

When he came back into view, the individual reportedly had a “large bulge” under his hoodie and pants, prompting the woman to tell him to stop.

The thief left the business and got into the driver’s seat of a turquoise 2005 Chrysler 300, according to a police report.

The employee told officers that when she walked into the parking lot to get the vehicle's license plate number, the robber accelerated the car toward her and threatened to run over her. The woman reportedly stepped away, then walked back into the parking lot as the car began to drive off.

According to police, the car stopped and the driver told the 24-year-old, “I’m fixing to shoot you,” then left. The report noted that there was a female passenger in the car.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
