Spin Cycle presents another installment of All the News That's Fit to Razz:
• In an interview with Parade magazine, actress Betty White, whose 96th birthday is Wednesday, credits her longevity, in part, to her diet. And it's not as healthy as one might suspect. Says the magazine: "She also loves vodka and hot dogs, 'probably in that order.'"
All we can say to that is hot dog!
• Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and TV writer/director/producer Brad Falchuk confirmed -- in the most supercilious way via her lifestyle Goop site -- that they are getting married: "We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship."
Congratulations on their engagement! Or rather, wishing them a contented "conscious coupling."
• Television personality David Letterman came out of retirement for the Jan. 12 debut of his new monthly Netflix talk show: My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. The first installment featured former President Barack Obama.
We were hoping it would be a barber. To hack off Letterman's awful beard.
• While NBC broadcasts the Olympics, ABC has announced its own counter-programming: The Bachelor: Winter Games premiering Feb. 13. The four-episode event will feature Bachelor participants from the United States and international versions of the show including Japan, Australia and Canada in "a global celebration of unity and love."
Or drunken hookups and hot tubs.
• At Sean Penn's annual auction to benefit Haiti last weekend, actor Brad Pitt bid $120,000 for a chance to watch Game of Thrones with the show's actress Emilia Clarke (is he really having this much trouble getting dates?).
He ultimately lost to an unnamed couple that bid $160,000. His lousy $120,000 was a mere Pitt-ance.
• The family of designer Gianni Versace has spoken out via statement against Ryan Murphy's show Versace: American Crime Story that's set to air Jan. 17 on FX: "The Versace family has neither authorized nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV series about the death of Mr. Gianni Versace. Since Versace did not authorize the book on which it is partly based nor has it taken part in the writing of the screenplay, this TV series should only be considered as a work of fiction."
It sounds like this situation is turning into the name of yet another Ryan Murphy TV project on FX: Feud.
• Rock band Radiohead is suing singer Lana Del Rey, claiming her song "Get Free" stole from their 1990s song "Creep" -- the same song that caused them to settle out of court with The Hollies who claimed "Creep" ripped off their 1970s song "The Air That I Breathe."
We wait to see if Lana can get off free with "Get Free."
• Super Bowl LII halftime show (Feb. 4 in Minneapolis) headliner Justin Timberlake has released a new single, titled "Filthy," and he recently announced dates for his Man of the Woods Tour that takes place March 13 through May 30. Let's see ... he'll be performing in Tulsa, Nashville, Dallas and Memphis. Everywhere around Arkansas, but not actually in Arkansas.
What's up with that Justin? We think a true Man of the Woods would be right at home in The Natural State.
• Speaking of the Super Bowl, the singer of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" has recently been named, joining the list of past performers like Luke Bryan (2017) and Lady Gaga (2016).
And pop star Pink is going to need some red, white and blue.
• Speaking of color, at last week's Golden Globes just about everyone wore black to make a statement against sexual harassment. I'm going to wear it all year for the same reason.
That and it's the only color in my closet.
