A new bar and lounge hopes to open in Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood by the end of February, the owner said Monday.

Proof Bar + Lounge will be located at 2611 Kavanaugh Blvd. in the space previously occupied by Next Bistro and Bar, according to the new business's Facebook page.

The owner is Gene Lee, who worked for The Pantry owner Tomas Bohm for eight years, he told Arkansas Online in a Facebook message.

The page states Proof will offer "plenty of beer, cocktails, wine and a little food to keep everyone happy."

Just what we need - another outlet for alcohol so people can get drunk and create mayhem.

arkateacher,

It's preferable to addiction to meth or opiods. I drink, but I have not yet committed much mayhem. When people drink, it should be at a neighborhood bar so as to not drink and drive.
