A bomb squad was deployed after a threat at an Arkansas mental health clinic Wednesday morning, authorities said.

About 8:40 a.m., Fort Smith police were called to Perspectives Behavioral Health Management, 1340 S. Waldron Road, where Justin Lee Schalski, 27, said he had a bomb and was going to set it off there, a news release states.

When interviewed, Schalski told officers that the bomb was at his home and consented to a search of the residence, police said.

The Fort Smith Fire Department's Bomb Squad found a "very small container" holding firecrackers and black powder, according to the release. The unit reportedly disassembled the device.

Schalski has been charged with first-degree terroristic threatening and was being held in lieu of $1,500 bond as of Wednesday afternoon, jail records show.
