Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash in Little Rock; SUV driver flees, police say

A Little Rock man died early Saturday in a head-on crash, and the other driver fled the scene, police said.

The man who died was driving a motorcycle that collided with a GMC Yukon in the 3300 block of Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock police spokesman Steven Moore said.

The driver of the Yukon, which left the road and turned over in a ditch, fled the scene of the crash, Moore said.

Officers responded to a report of an accident and found the 34-year-old man dead, Moore said. He said the Police Department would not release the man's name until all family members had been notified.

Moore said an investigator would be assigned to the hit-and-run crash. The Yukon's driver had not been located as of Saturday afternoon.

Finding the driver, Moore said, could be as simple as finding the owner of the sport utility vehicle or it could require DNA testing of the air bag if the SUV had been stolen.
