Police: Gunman got into 51-year-old's SUV while stopped at Little Rock intersection, robbed him

A 51-year-old central Arkansas man told police he was robbed early Thursday by a gunman who entered his vehicle while he was stopped at a Little Rock intersection.

The Jacksonville resident said he had left "Midtown" and was in his Kia Sorrento when a stranger got into the SUV and pointed a handgun at his head, according to a report from the city's Police Department. The victim reportedly jumped out of the vehicle, but the assailant began to chase him.

The gunman eventually tackled the 51-year-old, and his head hit the ground, the report states. Officers noted the Jacksonville man had a "bleeding abrasion" on the back of his head that was about 1 inch long.

Police said the robber took the victim's cellphone and wallet, which contained several licenses, and identification and credit cards.

No suspect was named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
