A teenager died on Saturday after he slipped and fell into a body of water in Cleburne County, the sheriff's office said.
Around 10:25 a.m., deputies were sent to Dam Site Park just outside Heber Springs after getting a call that someone might have drowned, according to a Cleburne County sheriff's office news release.
Deputies were told a 17-year-old boy slipped and fell into the water near Trouble Island, the release said. Emergency responders arrived, and divers reportedly pulled the teen's body out of the water around 10:50 a.m.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the release said. No other details were immediately available.
