Pickup overturns in crash, killing 20-year-old Arkansan

A 20-year-old man died early Monday after the vehicle he was driving overturned in northwest Arkansas, according to a report from Arkansas State Police.

Authorities said the wreck happened at 4:25 a.m. Monday on Arkansas 112 near its intersection with Har-Ber Avenue in Tontitown.

Ryan Smith of Springdale lost control of his Ford F-150 on a curve, the report states. The pickup then traveled off the road and overturned.

Conditions were described as clear and dry at the time of the Washington County wreck.

At least 246 people have died in crashes on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
