Gunshot in heel in North Little Rock hobbles 20-year-old

A 20-year-old man was injured in a shooting in North Little Rock last week, according to a police report released Tuesday.

Officers were called just before 4:30 p.m. July 3 to the 1600 block of West Long 17th Street, where they found the victim with a gunshot wound in his left heel.

The North Little Rock resident told authorities he was at a park near the 1500 block of West 20th Street when he heard about four gunshots. He said he then walked back to his home and called police, the report states.

An officer noted that the 20-year-old was found lying on the porch and "unable to walk."

Authorities wrote they could not find a crime scene near the park, and no one who lived nearby reported hearing gunfire.

Police did not give a reason for why the report was released a week later.

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the police report.
