LOWELL — Crews doing bridge work on Arkansas 612, the future U.S. 412 bypass, in Springdale will require lane closings.

Weather permitting, eastbound and westbound lanes on Arkansas 612 will alternately be closed during daytime hours today through June 20, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

This will allow the contractor to do minor cosmetic improvement on bridges between the Wagon Wheel Road overpass and the West Miller Overpass.

Traffic will be controlled by construction barrels and signs.

The project is part of the highway department’s Connecting Arkansas Program. About 4 miles of the new fourlane U.S. 412 Northern Bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to Arkansas 112, has been constructed. More information on the $100.6 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
