Man found dead at scene of Little Rock fire

A 51-year-old man was found dead after firefighters responded to a blaze at a Little Rock home Friday morning, a Fire Department spokesman said.

Firefighters responded just after 6 a.m. Friday to the Bellemeade Drive residence after a neighbor called to say the house was "fully engulfed in flames," said Capt. Jason Weaver.

When responders arrived, they had to extinguish the flames at the front of the house before going into the building, according to the spokesman. They found the man in the hallway, and he didn't have a pulse, Weaver said. The cause of the fire isn't known yet.

"It's still under investigation," Weaver said. "Since it was an unwitnessed fatality, the Police Department will be involved."
