North Little Rock police said a suspected intruder was shot Tuesday morning while breaking into a home.

When officers responded shortly after 11 a.m. to the Somerset Drive address, the 34-year-old resident told them he was watching a movie with a female guest when heard an individual kicking his front door.

The North Little Rock man grabbed his handgun and told the intruder, “Stop kicking the door. I’ve got a gun," but the kicking continued until the door was forced open, according to a report from the Police Department.

The report states the homeowner fired two shots from the kitchen as the intruder, later identified as 37-year-old Renaldo Foreman, entered the living room. The Maumelle man then stumbled away and reportedly fell into a pile of leaves in front of the house.

Foreman was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock, where he received treatment for a gunshot wound to the torso, police said.

"Nothing wrong with a little shootin' as long as the right person gets shot" ( My apologies to Clint Eastwood).

Kudos to the home owner. More of this needs to happen.

Why didn't he just wait for the police?

It's in situations like this when atheists say a prayer, and gun grabbers wish they had a gun.

The home owner practiced responsible gun control; he hit the target twice.

There may be more to this that we know. Fox news is saying the homeowner was in his bedroom watching a movie with a woman. I wonder if the man that was kicking in the door knew the woman and he wasn't there to rob? Before anyone says anything, I realize that even still, that did not give the man the right to kick in the door.

From KATV:
"Quinton Anthony Stephens, 34, said he was in his bedroom watching a movie with a woman, Jessica Foreman, when a man started banging on his front door, according to a police report"
.
"Police identified the intruder as Renaldo Foreman, 37. Jessica Foreman described him as her "baby's daddy" and said he'd come to the residence to look for her, according to the report. She reportedly drove him to Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock after the shooting. Police and property records show the two have a home in Maumelle."

If I don't have a gun, and someone with a gun tells me to stop doing something, I'd probably stop. But hey, that's just me.

Nine millimeter, still faster than 9-1-1.
