A North Little Rock woman accused of threatening someone with a knife told officers she "would've just stabbed" the victim if she knew she would be charged with aggravated assault either way, police said.

Authorities responded to the Burlington Coat Factory at 4220 E. McCain Blvd. about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday to a breaking or entering call.

There, a 43-year-old woman told authorities that a woman, later identified as 34-year-old Cheryl Spencer, had threatened her with a pocketknife.

The victim believed Spencer's boyfriend had broken into her car while she was shopping, an officer noted, and had asked her to wait with her until the police arrived.

Spencer said she didn't want to get involved, adding that "a b---- got warrants," according to a report from the city's Police Department.

The 43-year-old told authorities that Spencer pulled out the knife and pointed it at her when she began following her.

An officer wrote that while on the way to the Pulaski County jail, Spencer said: "If I would've known I was gonna catch an aggravated assault charge, I would've just stabbed the b----!"

She remained at the jail Thursday afternoon, records show, and no bail had been set. The North Little Rock resident faces charges of aggravated assault and obstructing government operations.
