53-year-old Little Rock woman dies in fiery crash

A Little Rock woman died in a fiery crash on a central Arkansas road Wednesday morning, authorities said.

According to a preliminary report from Arkansas State Police, the wreck occurred at 10 a.m. on West Azalea Drive in Alexander.

Johna McNeer, 53, was headed east in her 2010 Toyota Tacoma when the pickup traveled off the north side of the road and stuck a tree, the report states. Police said the vehicle caught fire, and McNeer suffered fatal injuries in the Saline County wreck.

The report did not specify what caused the pickup to drive off the road.

Authorities said the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.

At least 229 people have died in wrecks on state roads this year, according to preliminary data.
