PREP BASEBALL

Springdale Har-Ber 10, Booneville 0

Landon McAlister tossed a 1-hitter and struck out 10 in a dominating performance Thursday in the PBR Invitational at Greenwood.

McAlister gave up a single to Booneville's nine-hole hitter Ethan Dobbs in a 65-pitch masterpiece.

While McAlister was dominating on the hump, Wildcats' hitters battered three Booneville pitchers for 12 hits and did not have a single batter strike out.

Lucas McCain and Blake Adams drove in two runs each and the Wildcats banged four extra-base hits in the run-rule win. Adams had three stolen bases and Blaze Brothers had a pair of steals.

Rogers High 11, Alma 1 (6 innings)

The Mounties jumped in front with a five-run first inning aided by four Alma errors and went on to the run-rule win Thursday in the Best Sports Classic at Veterans Park.

Sophomore shortstop Sal Jacobo went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs, while Hayden Seldomridge, Matthew Watson and MaKaden Templeton added two hits each. Watson drove in three runs with a pair of doubles. Seldomridge and Templeton drove in two each.

Mason Griffin and Jay Watson combined on a four-hitter for the Mounties. Watson retired nine straight hitters over the final three innings, striking out seven. He also added a double.

Christian Flores had two of Alma's three hits and scored on Zac Henson's single for the Airedales' lone run.

Rogers High 12, Fort Gibson, Okla. 2 (5 innings)

Matthew Watson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple with two RBIs and also picked up the win on the mound.

Watson pitched four innings, allowing an unearned run three hits. He struck out five and walked two.

Rogers (2-0) took a 2-0 lead on Watson's two-run double in the first an never looked back. Tim Howard drove in three runs, while Andrew McClynn went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. McKaden Templeton added two hits.

Rogers Heritage 5, Fort Gibson, Okla., 4

Dylan Qualls allowed one run in five innings and hit a two-run double to lead Rogers Heritage past Fort Gibson, Okla., Thursday in the Best Sports Classic.

Fort Gibson scored three runs in the top of the seventh before Ben Pollock took over for Ryan Carlson and ended the game with a strikeout. Carlson had two hits, including an RBI double to give the War Eagles a 5-1 lead.

Alma 13, Rogers Heritage 1

Zac Henson went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and also pitched two scoreless innings to help the Airedales roll over the War Eagles.

Henson's two-run double in the first inning gave Alma (1-1) a 2-0 lead and the Airedales cruised from there. Trenton Christello and Destin Smith added two hits each. Smith drove in three and Christello drove in two.

Parker Edwards picked up the win for Alma, allowing a run (unearned) on two hits over four innings.

Bentonville West 7, Mountain Home 0

Dylan Carter and Jaron Jenkins combined on a three-hitter to lead the Wolverines to the season-opening win.

Will Jarrett went 2-for-3 and scored a run, while Maddox Thornton and Joey Aden drove in two runs for West in its season opener.

Carter picked up the win, allowing one hits and no runs over four innings. He struck out four and walked two. Jenkins pitched the final three innings, allowing two hits and striking out two.

Bentonville High 7, Mountain Home 4

Nathan Lyons' two-out, two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth inning snapped a 4-4 tie and helped the Tigers claim the season-opening win in the Best Sports Classic.

Bentonville had nobody on with two outs before the Tigers scored three times aided by a pair of Mountain Home errors.

Ryan Kneeshaw went 2-for-2 and drove in two runs for Bentonville, while Lyons was just 1-for-1, but drove in two and scored three times.

Kam'ron Mays Hunt struck ou the side in the seventh to pick up the win for the Tigers.

Van Buren 10, Morrilton 0

Landry Wilkerson pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11 as the Pointers posted their second straight shutout to open the season.

Wilkerson went 6 innings and walked 2 in a 90-pitch effort. He did not reserve his damage for the mound, he also delivered at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and 4 RBIs.

Evan Jones was 2-for-3 with a double, and Bryson Patrick was also 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs for Van Buren (2-0).

Allen, Texas 3, Fayetteville 2

Miller Pleimann struck out 12 in six innings but it wasn't enough in a close loss to Allen, Texas.

Allen broke a 2-2 with a run in the fourth inning. Luke Davenport and Jeff Sinacore each had two hits for Fayetteville.

Rogers Heritage 7, Prairie Grove 5

The Lady War Eagles scored four times in the top of the sixth inning to rally for a season-opening win Thursday at Veterans Park.

Casey Castoe's two-run double was the big blow in the sixth for Heritage. She came around to score on a throwing error to give the Lady War Eagles a 6-5 lead. Alexa Enos added an RBI-single in the inning.

Enos led Heritage with two hits and two RBIs. Baleigh Birdcreek went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored.

Gentry 24, Siloam Springs 7

The Lady Pioneers scored runs in just two innings on Thursday, and that was all they needed.

Gentry plated 14 runs in the first inning and 10 in the third as the game ended at that point.

Four Gentry players had 2 hits each. Randi Jo Bolinger led the 11-hit attack by going 2-for-2 with a double. Harley Stanfield, Carissa Goosens and Meledy Owens also had 2 hits each and Lynzey Sikes drove in three runs with a triple and Cali Stevens doubled and drove in two runs.

Siloam Springs scored seven first-inning runs and had 10 hits in the loss. Kenlie Noel had 2 hits and Allie Bowman had 2 RBIs. Both had a double in the game.

Girls

Rogers High 1, Cabot 1

Rogers High's Skylurr Patrick scored in the second half to tie the game, but the Lady Mounties could not manage the game-winner as the nonconference match ended in a tie Thursday evening.

Cabot scored early and led 1-0 at halftime. But Patrick got the equalizer in the second half on an assist from Haley Arrick. Keeper Mac Brace has 10 saves for the Lady Mounties (1-0-1).
