Central Arkansas Christian’s Alexa Mashburn (30), Kelson Miller (3) and Christyn Williams (13) celebrate as the clock expires in the Mustangs' 58-57 win over Riverview in the Class 4A girls state championship game on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Bank of the Ozarks Arena in Hot Springs.

Christyn Williams lived up to her billing in the girls McDonald's All-Star Game on Wednesday night.

Williams, who led Central Arkansas Christian to a 36-1 record and to a Class 4A state championship earlier this month, earned MVP honors behind a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds in leading the West to an 82-79 victory over the East at Philips Arena.

Coming into the game, Williams was rated as ESPN's No. 1 player for the Class of 2018, and she did not disappoint.

Williams was 9 of 16 from the floor, including a 4-of-5 performance from three-point range. Williams hit a three-pointer to start the second quarter to give the West a 24-23 lead. The West never trailed again.

A UConn signee, Williams added the McDonald's MVP to her long list of accomplishments, which include the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year, the Naismith Player of the Year, the Morgan Wootten Player of the Year and the Gatorade National Player of the Year.

Williams averaged 26.8 points and 10.4 rebounds for the Lady Mustangs during her senior year.

Williams did the majority of her offensive work in the first half, scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds in the first two quarters. She connected on her first four three-point attempts and was 6-of-9 shooting in the first half.

Williams scored nine of her team's 26 points in the second quarter as the West built a 47-40 halftime advantage. She scored only two points in the fourth quarter, but she had three of her five assists in the final 10 minutes to help the West hold on for the victory.

Baylor signee Queen Egbo added 13 points and five blocks for the West. Oklahoma signee Madison Williams scored 13 points and had seven rebounds for the East.
