It premieres at 9 p.m. Wednesday, with a second episode following at 9:30, with a visit to locations where people claim to connect with spirits and miracles. Gates visits a celebration honoring a mysterious American soldier on a remote Pacific island and a portal to the dead in New Orleans.
In the second episode he investigates the mystery of crystal skulls, and visits Spain and Scotland.
Expedition Unknown is an hour long series in which Gates travels to destinations around the world, seeking to uncover the truth behind some well-known legends and fascinating lore. In the season premiere at 8 p.m., the show takes viewers to Israel and Ethiopia in a search for the lost Ark of the Covenant.
Josh Gates’ Destination Truth finds the explorer experiencing some harrowing adventures in search of the truth behind unusual mysteries. Starting at 7 p.m. Friday, the Travel Channel will air a marathon of repeat episodes with the season premiere at 8 p.m. In it, Gates spends the night in an abandoned cemetery in Thailand. Then he and his team hunt for a massive serpet said to live in the Mekong River.
