BENTONVILLE -- Melvin Ford Aquatic Center will open for the summer season Saturday.
Open swim hours will be from noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lap swim hours will be from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 7 to 9 a.m. and noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. A minimum of two lanes will be designated for lap swimming throughout the day.
Admission to the center is $3 for adults and $2 for those younger than 18 years old. A membership to the Bentonville Community Center includes admission into Melvin Ford.
The pool is available for private rentals from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Several programs and events will take place at the aquatic center, including swimming lessons, junior life guarding classes and a recreational youth swim team.
Mondays at Melvin will be a series held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. each Monday from June 4 through Aug. 6 featuring live music, shaved ice and other festivities.
