The odds of being murdered in the USA is one in sixteen thousand. The odds of school children being murdered at school is one in a million.

Those odds are still not acceptable and I hope you're not callous enough to say you do accept such. Some things are simply not acceptable no matter what the odds are.

It is also unacceptable to penalize law-abiding citizens for the actions of a few crazies...

Crazy folks with easy access to guns ready to use them to kill multiple victims?
**
Is it too many guns that are too easy to get (which is the status quo now) or is it too few guns that are hard to get (which is oft the erroneous portrayal of gun control laws)? Is it any and all kinds of dangerous, lethal, or assault level weapons or is it some responsibility on the part of government, law enforcement, and the citizenry?
**
And why don't we use the founding fathers' notion of a well-regulated militia instead of the NRA's barely regulated gaggle of people?
Reasonable and well-regulated ownership is acceptable. Anything less is not. Less is what lets the crazies arm themselves so easily.

I'm frankly shocked that another school shooting could happen considering how many Republican politicians prayed and how many thoughts they sent after the last one.

I'm kind of surprised our "well-regulated militia" is doing so many school massacres and mass shootings.
