Police investigate traffic-stop death

A 36-year-old man died Thursday morning after a traffic stop in Magnolia where officers observed him suffering from a "medical condition," according to a news release.

Cornelius D. Young of Rosston was pulled over on Smith Street for traffic violations when he "began to show signs of physical distress," a Magnolia Police Department release said.

Emergency personnel took Young to Magnolia Regional Medical Center, where he died, authorities said.

City police said they did not know the cause of Young's condition. The Arkansas State Police has been asked to investigate the death.

Young's body will be taken to the state Crime Laboratory, police said.
