A North Little Rock police officer will fly with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in an air and space show later this month.

Officer Tommy Norman, who has been designated a “hometown hero,” will fly with the pilots starting at 4:45 p.m. Oct. 25, before the official beginning of the Thunder Over the Rock Air and Space Show at the Little Rock Air Force Base, according to a news release.

Norman has drawn national attention for his social media and community outreach and work with his Mission Give Foundation.

The air show, set for Oct. 27-28, will include performances from the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Jump Team and the U.S. Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Jump Team, according to its website. The air force base’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Fest, which is geared toward students, will also be open during the air show.
