BENTONVILLE — An Arkansas man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child and possessing drugs.
Christopher Ennis, 41, of Rogers entered the plea to charges of sexual assault, possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ennis was arrested March 24 after police investigated him concerning the sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl, according to court documents. The girl was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County, where she said Ennis began sexually abusing her when she was 4 years old, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green sentenced Ennis to 40 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. He will have to abide by a suspended sentence agreement for 10 years after his release.
He will be required to register as a sex offender. He was ordered to pay $1,945 in court costs.
