LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas' lieutenant governor has been selected to lead a Republican group of the states' No. 2 officials and Iowa's lieutenant governor will be vice chairman.
The Republican Lieutenant Governors Association on Friday announced that Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin will serve as the organization's 2019 chairman. Griffin was first elected as Arkansas' lieutenant governor in 2014 and won re-election last year. He previously served two terms as a congressman representing central Arkansas' 2nd District.
Iowa Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg was selected as the group's vice chairman.
The RLGA raises money and assists Republicans in their campaigns for lieutenant governor. Republicans currently hold 25 of the 45 lieutenant governor offices nationwide, according to the group.
