NCAA INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Razorbacks will have plenty of scoring opportunities

FAYETTEVILLE -- The University of Arkansas women's track and field team will have a national-leading 15 scoring opportunities at the NCAA Indoor Championships held to be held March 8-9 in Birmingham, Ala.

Lexi Jacobus and Tori Hoggard -- twin sisters from Cabot -- rank 1-2 nationally in the pole vault, according to the NCAA meet's entries list announced this week.

Weeks cleared 15 feet, 4 1/4 inches to to set Arkansas and SEC meet records last Saturday and win her fifth conference title while Hoggard cleared 15-1 to take second.

Arkansas senior Payton Chadwick, who is from Springdale and is the defending NCAA champion in the 60-meter hurdles, will run the hurdles and 200 meters and on the 1,600 relay. She won the hurdles and took second in the 200 a the SEC meet and ran on Arkansas' fourth-place 1,600 relay.

Razorbacks sophomore Janeek Brown has the No. 2 time nationally in the 60 hurdles (7.95). Kelsey Herman, a senior from Crossett, ranks third in the pentathlon with 4,330 points she scored in winning the SEC title. Senior Kiara Parker has the No. 2 time in the 60 (7.15).

Seniors Gabe Moore and Derek Jacobus are national qualifiers in the heptathlon for Arkansas' men's team. Moore ranks No. 4 with 5,908 points he scored in taking second at the SEC meet.

Sophomore Laquan Nairn qualified in the triple jump along with the Razorbacks' teams for the 1,600 and distance medley relays.
