Dead Horses, with opening act Benjamin Jaffe, performs at 9 p.m. Friday at South on Main. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 the day of the show.

Dead Horses, a Milwaukee-based "indie folk" duo, is guitarist Sarah Vos and bassist Daniel Wolff. They released their latest CD, My Mother the Moon, (produced by former Wilco and Uncle Tupelo member Ken Coomer) in 2018.

Jaffee is a member of Los Angeles Americana duo Honeyhoney.

Big Freedia performs at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $20.

Based in New Orleans, Big Freedia is credited with helping popularize a form of hip-hop called "bounce music."

Singer-songwriter Carter Sampson performs at 8 p.m. today at The Big Chill in Hot Springs. Admission is $10.

Sampson, a native of Oklahoma City, has won multiple awards, including first place in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest in North Carolina in 2015. She released her debut album, Fly Over the Moon, in 2004. Her latest CD, Lucky, came out in October 2018.

The show is part of the club's Third Thursday Concert Series; proceeds benefit the Unknown Legends Musicians Relief Fund.
