WASHINGTON COUNTY

Cross Church of Northwest Arkansas will host Pastor Ronnie Floyd’s last service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Bud Walton Arena on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., and the service is expected to end at 11:30 a.m.

Sunday’s event will usher in the new leadership of Cross Church, Senior Pastor Nick Floyd.

On April 2, Ronnie Floyd was elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee and will move with wife Jeana to Nashville, Tenn.

First United Methodist Church in Springdale, 206 W. Johnson Ave., presents an Encore Concert at 7 p.m. June 5 in the sanctuary. The concert will feature the church’s favorite music from the past year. There will be performances by all three praise teams in a variety of musical styles from traditional choir to contemporary praise music. All are welcome to attend.

St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale, 2898 S. 48th St., will hold its annual Trash & Treasures sale from 7 to 11 a.m. June 1. Unique items, household goods, toys, children’s items and lots more will be available. Proceeds help support the various ministries the church provides.

BENTON COUNTY

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., hosts Cookie Sunday before each service at 9:30 and 11 a.m. this Sunday.

Summer Arts Camp is scheduled for Monday-Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for kids entering grades one through six. More information is available at the Information Center on Sunday mornings or online at bvcc.net. This year features exciting new classes such as clay, weaving and dance including tap and ballet. Classes fill up quickly, so register today. Registration ends June 10.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., invites owners of “oldy but goodie” vehicles to consider showing their dandies at the church’s annual car show, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Contact the church office for information.

The church also seeks cereal and tomato sauce donations, as well as bags and boxes, for its Shepherd’s Food Pantry as summer break from school approaches. Donations may be left in the pantry entry. Pantry hours are each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.

On the fourth Tuesday of each month, stroke and brain trauma victims and caregivers are invited to share ideas in a group discussion from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the church library. The May meeting is on May 28.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., hosts Vacation Bible School: To Mars and Beyond from 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 9-13 for children entering fourth through sixth grades. Each evening will begin with a supper at 5:30 p.m. for the entire family; families are asked to stay with their children throughout the duration of the supper. Adults and youngsters in grades seven to 12 are invited to volunteer. There is also registration available for a simultaneous adult education track. Register at fpcbentonville.org/vbs.

Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rogers, 2305 S. Dixieland Road, hosts a meeting of the church council at 7 p.m. May 22 and a voters’ meeting following worship June 16.

Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers, 805 Olrich St., has special events Sunday for all ages.

Youth gather at 2:30 p.m. to bowl at Rogers Bowling Center, 3500 W Walnut St. All are welcome; bring a friend.

Those 21 and older looking for a relaxed environment to chat about God and enjoy fellowship with others are invited to Pub Theology at 4 p.m. at Ozark Beer Company, 109 N. Arkansas St. in Rogers.

United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, hosts the next Art ‘N’ Luther painting party at 6 p.m. May 31. Come prepared to listen to music and eat some tasty finger foods as well as painting a picture that you eventually take home. Tickets are $10; bring a friend and that ticket is only $5. Unity Church of the Ozarks, 12 McKissick Creek Road, Suite 1210, Bentonville, will join in the rescheduled Spring Salvation Army Food Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 25 at Walmart Neighborhood Market, 1400N. Walton Blvd in Benton-ville. Everyone is invited to stop by and donate.

Village Bible Church

in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts the Ladies Bible Study led by Joanne Morris on the Old Testament prophet Micah at 9 a.m. May 21. Women from the community are always welcome to attend.

At 7 p.m., a Men’s Bible Study taught by Don Rogan will meet in the Oasis Center, studying the book of Revelation.

The White Cross Women’s Mission ministry and the ladies’ KniTTogether ministry will also meet at 7 p.m.

On May 22, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, and the community is always welcome. At 6:30 p.m. there will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults in the Worship Center. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well, and the community is always welcome.
