Hey there. We’re back with another round of suggestions for perking up the Little Rock parks with shut-down golf courses.

But first, a refresher: Last summer the city shut down golf courses at War Memorial Park and Hindman Park.

A task force was assembled to come up with alternate uses for the spaces, and those suggestions included everything from a bike park, pavilions, restaurant and beer garden at War Memorial, to a skate park, playground and nature center at Hindman.

To which we roll our eyes and say: “Meh.”

But instead of just grumbling and complaining, we formed our own task force and devised a few suggestions of our own for what to do with these areas.

Careful readers will remember that we used this space last week to kindly offer our wholly reasonable ideas for War Memorial Park. A Cheese Dip Fountain was among the proposed attractions. Take a look at the rest of them at arkansasonline.com/217war.

Suggestions from readers — both of them — poured in. Those ideas for what to do with War Memorial included jousting, a pizza restaurant and leaving the space as it is and using it as a golf course.

Today, we turn our attention to Hindman Park.

Mount Magazine Replica: This near-life size replica would be made of actual magazines and would allow hardy climbers to scale its staggering height. Discarded perfume-sample inserts will also give it a pleasant aroma.

Community Beer Garden: Drink beer while weeding. Must be 21 or older and have a green thumb.

Arkansas Ninja Warrior Course: Would feature obstacles like conducting a search for a University of Arkansas head football coach and navigating Walmart on a Saturday afternoon for a can of Ro-Tel and a block of Velveeta.

Pickleball Courts: Sponsored by the city of Atkins, with pickle juice dispenser for summer hydration.

Yacht Rides: Cruise nearby Fourche Creek in style aboard a luxury yacht that comes equipped with helicopter landing pad, game room, theater, sauna and gym.

Squirrel Tree: Have a bunch of unwanted critters taken up residence in your attic? Trap them and re-introduce them to the natural world at this special area of the park where they can frolic and run free.

Yard Sign Exchange: A repository where visitors can drop off old yard sale, political and for-sale signs or select from the collection.

Wishing Well: A wishing well that actually grants wishes.

Golf Cart Race Track: A circuit with gnarly obstacles and plenty of sand traps for racng hopped-up and highly modified golf carts.
